General Information

Greetings from the GitNation team! We are tech event organizers around Europe and the USA.

If you haven’t heard from us, we advise you to read and learn about our events here.

Participating in our events as a volunteer is a great way to get to know your industry colleagues & gain valuable experience working at a dynamic event, while also having access to informative talks and other exciting opportunities.

Whether you are a new or returning volunteer, please review our registration process to join us.

What you will receive as a GitNation volunteer?

As a volunteer, you will receive:

  • limited volunteer swag (for in-person only)
  • possibility to get a portal multipass where we have all talks and workshops from ALL conferences for 6 months for free
  • pass to the conference you’d like to help with (in-person/remote). The value varies from 200 to 600 EUR
  • letter of appreciation/certificate, which you can attach to your CV (after 3 successful events with us)

Short version

Our conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.

📍 Please note, we are not covering travel or accommodation expenses for the in-person events.

Volunteer Activities

Learn more about each activities we have for volunteers below

Build-up day

We have a build-up day one day before the conference. During this time volunteer help us to prepare the venue for the conference (set navigation tools, set up roll-ups and banners, disseminate badges, prepare goodie bags for attendees). Also we have a short training and have opportunity to know the venue better before the conference.

Registration

Registration volunteers greet attendees, answer questions, and distribute conference badges and goodie bag items. We have the following departments here:

  • Attendees’ registration zone
  • Speakers’ registration zone
  • VIP registration zone
  • Goodie bag distribution
Stage Management

Stage Volunteers help support our stage team (MC, AV team, speakers) in a variety of ways to ensure successful conference sessions & talks. We have the following departments here:

  • Stage volunteers (Track 1, Track 2)
  • Speakers’ QnA rooms (Track 1, Track 2)
  • Discussion Rooms
  • Workshops (1 day before the conference)
  • Pre-party activities (1 day before the conference)
Navigation

Navigation positions provides the latest information on sessions, assists with navigating around the venue, provides general conference information, lost-and-found, and welcomes those attending the conference. We have the following departments here:

  • General navigation
  • Sponsors’ booth (if needed)
  • Speakers’ navigation
  • Catering navigation (during lunch, we need support with managing ppl queues)
Hangout days

After the main conference day, sometimes we have a hangout day for attendees. In this case we’ll need support with managing people during planned activities (for example, help with navigation on boat/walking tours in Amsterdam).

Remote help

After in-person days, we have a remote day. On this day we need support with Discord announcements and chats managements – answer attendees questions, follow-up discussion and ask speakers questions online.

What you will receive?
