FAQ section:

  • Will we have time to listen to talks?

We have shifts for volunteers engagement, so you will definitely have enough time to take a rest, listen to talks, or network with attendees. Itā€™s important that you will be able to do that in breaks from your volunteering activities.

  • Will I have the access to talk recordings after the conference?

Sure, after successful completion of your volunteering activities weā€™ll give you a 6 months free access to GitNation portal, where we have all talk recordings from all our conferences.

  • Do you cover travel and accommodation costs?

We cover drinks and food during the build up day and the conference days, but we do not cover travel and accommodation. Sometimes we can offer discounts for partners hotels closer to the event space. You can also connect with volunteers to get a free sleeping place.

  • How do I know if I am selected as a volunteer?

You will receive an email notification if youā€™re selected.

  • What is the deadline to apply as a volunteer?

Usually, itā€™s 1-1,5 months before the conference, as we organize online trainings to ensure the volunteers get useful information before each event.

  • Which trainings should I complete before the event?

We organize 2 online calls before each in-person event.

During the first call we share information about volunteering activities, as well as some basic org information. At the second call, we discuss and set up time shifts for all conference activities so that all volunteers know what they will be doing at each conference day.

What volunteers say about their experience with GitNation:

ā€œVolunteering with Gitnation was an incredible experience. I've always admired the people behind the scenes at events I've attended, and being part of that team was both rewarding and eye-opening. I met some amazing people and played a role in making sure the events ran smoothly. The entire team was welcoming and supportive. As someone who's usually reserved and doesn't talk much, this experience helped me break out of my shell. I had the chance to talk to many people and engage in interesting conversations. I absolutely loved it and hope to volunteer again.ā€ - Damilola Majek

ā€œI met some cool people, Increased my network, and got career advice from more experienced engineers. And I will be happy to volunteer again.ā€ - Abdulbasit Said Ibrahim

ā€œI had the incredible opportunity to serve as a crew member at JSNation, React Summit, and C3 Dev Fest 2024 in Amsterdam. These events, held in one of Europeā€™s most vibrant cities, were a whirlwind of activity and innovation. Throughout the conferences, I had the chance to engage with a diverse array of developers, tech professionals, and industry leaders from around the globe. My responsibilities included coordinating speaker sessions, supporting presenters, and assisting attendees, all aimed at creating a seamless and enriching experience for everyone involved. As a crew member, I had the opportunity to work closely with the GitNation team and other crew members from different countries and companies, which helped me build a valuable network. I also gained access to participate in speaker Q&A sessions and discussion forums.ā€ - Himanshu Garg
