Welcome to React Summit US 2023! We are so excited to have you with us again!

Get ready to meet a lot of like-minded people, to learn, connect, and have some real fun in New Jersey. Let’s create an unforgettable experience that will stay with you for years. To make this possible, please use this guide, so you know all important info & policies that will ensure you have a safe and productive conference!

We are running a hybrid conference, so most of the materials we write here will be relevant for both IN-PERSON and REMOTE participation. But we’d recommend our REMOTE audience to take a look at our Remote Welcome Guide.

Interaction via Conference Discord Channels

How to connect to discord:

  2. After joining the server you’ll get a welcome message

Workshops (registration details included)

We will hold workshops before and after the conference. There are two types of workshops: Free workshops and Pro workshops.

Workshops will be run remotely via Zoom. The recordings of most workshops will be shared with full ticket holders after the conference. How to register:

The workshops take place remote / in-person, you can find out more about the workshops here. They are not included in the main ticket, you can buy tickets for them separately via the link.


After the second day of the conference, each participant will receive a certificate which will appear in participant’s GitNation portal account. You will get the notification in your email address.

Note, to receive a certificate you need to have an account in the GitNation portal.

Talk recording after the conference

All recordings will be placed at the GitNation portal.

Recordings from remote days will be placed right after the conference, in-person recordings - within 1-2 weeks after the conference.

Attendees with Free Tickets will be able to get recordings in a month after the conference.

Our conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, X (Twitter) and other online media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

📌  Conference Announcements

We will make various announcements via the #📢rsus-announcements channel on Discord GitNation Tech Communities server. Make sure you’ve joined Discord server!

📌  Schedule

We will have 2 tracks: Summit & Base Camp. Each track will have a different speaker in parallel. The schedule can be found on the website. For in-person participation, the time shows in ET. For remote - in your local browsers time zone.

📌  Speaker Q&A rooms

After each talk, you will be able to ask questions to the speakers in-person. We’ll have a dedicated Speaker Q&A rooms for that. Head there after talk and onstage QnA to ask your questions to speaker personally.

Location: Networking hall, next to the entrance to the Summit Track

Note, the speaker Q&A room will be hybrid, meaning that remote attendees will also be able to join via (link to can be found on the watch page).

On November 13 we’ll have 3 discussion rooms:

  • AI Engineering - 11:15 EST
  • React Server Components - 13:50 EST
  • Career / Life Balance - 14:55 EST

Break before the party (17:00-19:00 EST approx)

Use the time before the party wisely – take some rest, have a nice dinner with new and old friends, recharge before the party begins!

After Party (19:00-22:00 EST)

Barcade in Jersey City is a unique venue that offers unforgettable entertainment. It's a fusion of a cozy bar and an arcade game lounge, attracting enthusiasts of classic games from the '80s and '90s.

You'll discover iconic titles like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, and many more, making it an excellent opportunity to experience the retro gaming vibe. The interior of Barcade is stylish, with decorations full of nostalgia creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The music adds an extra charm.

Among the wide range of available cocktails and snacks, everyone will find something to enjoy, enhancing your gaming and social gathering experience.

Entrance rules

Please note that entry is only allowed with a valid ID or passport. Individuals under 21 years of age cannot purchase or consume alcoholic beverages.

Violation of this rule will result in the event being closed.

At your disposal are 2 tokens to use on drinks at the bar, the equivalent of $2 in gaming tokens, and unlimited snacks from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. These are Fire Roasted Salsa & Tortilla Chips, Veggie Burger Sliders, Loaded Chicken Quesadilla.

Food & Beverage On Site

In the morning you will find welcome coffee in the catering area.

During the coffee breaks, you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee and tea along with light refreshments. Regular lunch will be provided to all attendees.

There will be vegan & gluten-free options available, make sure you ask for them from the staff if you don’t see them right away.

Ways of Getting to the Venue

Traveling to the Liberty Science Center (LSC) by public transport is quick and easy; You can find different ways of getting to the venue here.

The LSC is conveniently located within walking distance to the Lightrail for any guests commuting by transit.

New York - New Jersey

We recommend you to use Liberty Landing Ferry (a one-way ticket costs 10$) to travel from New York. Departure - every hour from 6.45 a.m. till 6.45 p.m.

The ferry service runs in the following directions:

  • Brookfield Place TerminalNew York, New York
  • Warren StreetJersey City, New Jersey
  • Liberty Landing MarinaJersey City, New Jersey (the closest point to the Liberty Science Center)

Then you can take a 20-minute walk to the venue.

Parking at the Venue

Liberty Science Center has complimentary parking onsite at the facility, which can accommodate around 700 cars.


Wheelchair access

The venue is equipped for the mobility of people with disabilities. There are wheelchair-accessible seats in the hall.

Public Wi-Fi will be available on-site for each participant. No password is required to join the network.

Filming & Photography

A professional crew will be taking photos and videos at the event for future promotion of the event. If you’d like to opt out of being photographed and recorded, you can ask for a black conference lanyard at the registration that signals to the crew to not take pictures. You might still be captured accidentally in audience photos where the lanyard is not visible – please get in touch with our support for deletion requests.

Lost & Found

If you find an item that is on its own (bag, laptop, phone, etc.), please do the right thing and bring it to the registration area, we will find the owner of the item.

Meeting & Connecting with Others

Non-exclusionary conversations

Most of our attendees work as mid-level or senior software developers. However, juniors and students will also be present at the event. Please remember that you were once one of them, and treat them with respect regardless of experience.

Travel to the USA

Please consult the up-to-date travel rules for All countries or take a look directly at your country’s official Covid information website.

When you travel to the USA, you:

  • do not need to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • do not need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test

But we still advise that you book refundable accommodation and travel.

Go to the watch page –> Click on the discussion room button –> Go to and in the rooms list on the right find the room named "Discussion Room" and click on it to join.
