Welcome to TestJS Summit 2023! We are so excited to have you with us again!

Get ready to meet a lot of like-minded people, to learn, connect, and have some real fun in Berlin. Let’s create an unforgettable experience that will stay with you for years. To make this possible, please use this guide, so you know all important info & policies that will ensure you have a safe and productive conference!

We are running a hybrid conference, so most of the materials we write here will be relevant for both IN-PERSON and REMOTE participation. But we’d recommend our REMOTE audience to take a look at our Remote Welcome Guide.

Interaction via Conference Discord Channels

All the main communication will be in discord. Click here to join the Discord channels.

How to connect to discord:

  1. Join Discord server via the link
  2. After joining the server you’ll get a welcome message

Workshops (registration details included)

There is one type of workshops: FREE.

Workshops will be run remotely via Zoom. The recordings of most workshops will be shared with full ticket holders after the conference. How to register:

Certificates

After the second day of the conference, each participant will receive a certificate which will appear in participant’s GitNation portal account. You will get the notification in your email address.

Note, to receive a certificate you need to have an account in the GitNation portal.

Talk recording after the conference

All recordings will be placed at the GitNation portal.

Recordings from remote days will be placed right after the conference, in-person recordings - within 1-2 weeks after the conference.

Attendees with Free Tickets will be able to get recordings in a month after the conference.

Our conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, X (Twitter) and other online media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Registration & Schedule Overview

📌  Conference Announcements

We will make various announcements via the #📢testjs-announcements channel on Discord GitNation Tech Communities server. Make sure you’ve joined Discord server!

📌  Schedule

We will have 2 tracks: Production & Testing Localhost. Each track will have a different speakers in parallel. The schedule can be found on the website. Times are shown in your local browser time zone.

📌  Speaker Q&A rooms

After each talk, you will be able to ask questions to the speakers in-person. We’ll have a dedicated Speaker Q&A spot for most of the speakers. Head there after talk and onstage QnA to ask your questions to speaker personally.

Location: near the registration and sponsors – look for a Speaker Q&A banner.

📌  Discussion Rooms

On December 7 we’ll have 2 discussion rooms:

  • 14:10-14:55 CET - AI Testing
  • 15:40-16:25 CET - Testing Tools & Frameworks

Find the exact schedule on the conference website.

Location: follow the Discussion room signs in the venue.

Note, the discussion rooms will be hybrid, meaning that remote attendees will also be able to join via ZOOM (link to ZOOM can be found on the watch page).

After Party on December 8 (19:00-22:00 BST)

Join us at the venue (same as conference) on December 8, from 19:00!

What will happen at the party:

Room 1 (where Production Track will be during the day):

Alexandra Cárdenas, a visionary artist from Bogota, Colombia, seamlessly merges composition, programming, and improvisation in her live coding practice to create captivating experimental electronic music. Her artistic journey is driven by a fascination with the algorithmic behavior of music, exploring the limitless possibilities of musicality within code.
  • 💫 At 21:00 CET DJ Performance from MINJA. MINJA is a passionate performer of musical journeys. Her vision is to enrich your presence in expansion and liberation.
  • 🎲 Board games

Food & Beverage On Site

In the morning you will find welcome coffee in the catering area.

During the coffee breaks, you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee and tea along with light refreshments. Regular lunch will be provided to all attendees.

There will be vegan & gluten free options available, make sure you ask for them from the staff if you don’t see them right away.

Ways of Getting to the Venue

Travelling to the Kosmos by public transport is quick and easy as the venue is located just in 4 min walking from Frankfurter Tor station.

📌 Uber or Bolt (Taxi)

Uber or Bolt works perfectly in Berlin. You can download the app via App Store or Google Play.

Parking at the Venue

There is underground parking at the Kosmos.

Accessibility

Wheelchair access

The venue is equipped for the mobility of people with disabilities. There are wheelchair-accessible seats in the hall.

Wi-fi

Yes, there will be wi-fi at the venue. Please refrain from doing any high-bandwidth activities such as watching videos or livestreaming. Network name & pw will be provided at the venue.

Filming & Photography

A professional crew will be taking photos and videos at the event for future promotion of the event. If you’d like to opt out of being photographed and recorded, you can ask for a black lanyard at the registration that signals to the crew to not take pictures. You might still be captured accidentally in audience photos where the lanyard is not visible – please get in touch with our support for deletion requests.

Lost & Found

If you find an item that is on its own (bag, laptop, phone, etc), please do the right thing and bring it to the registration area, we will find the owner of the item.

Meeting & Connecting with Others

Non-exclusionary conversations

Most of our attendees work as mid-level or senior software developers. However, juniors and students will also be present at the event. Please remember that you were once one of them, and treat them with respect regardless of experience.

We’ve also set up a discord channel #🌆activities-around-conf where you can group with other attendees to go somewhere/do smth together. To do this, just suggest an activity in the channel.

Travel to the Germany

For entry into Germany, proof of vaccination, proof of convalescence or proof of testing is no longer required. For the most recent updates, please see here.

Unfortunately, that does not hold for countries in the red zone. Travellers are required to register before entry, provide a negative PCR-test result and quarantine for 14 days. The list of areas of variant of concern is available on the website of the Robert Koch-Institute.

We strongly advise that you book refundable accommodation and travel. Please see the website of your travel providers for more information.

Joining the room through the timeline:

Go to the watch page –> Click on the discussion room button –> Go to Spatial.chat and in the rooms list on the right find the room named "Discussion Room" and click on it to join.
